Unique Ideas to Make Your Wedding Day Simply Yours
by boston E Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with sticking to the elegant and classic storybook wedding, but if you're like me-
you think, I want something new. I want something people will remember. I want my wedding to be unlike any other. Achieving the stylish, chic and
uniquely yours wedding is not impossible and with some creativity and time for planning everything you've ever dreamed of can be done. The
following are some tips, tricks, advice, and must do's for planning the wedding event of the year that has your name written all over it.
1. Announcement
Your wedding announcement should reflect the style of wedding your hoping to achieve. Make sure you start the "uniqueness" out
right with a chic wedding picture and out of the box announcement. City photo shoots always turn out great! If you live near a big city
search the internet for a photographer in the city, i.e. Salt Lake photography, and talk to them about planning an outrageous photo shoot.
Make sure to do your research before hiring a photographer. Ask to look at their portfolio and see if their style matches what you're
imagining. Another important thing to do is start looking online and in bridal magazines for pictures that you like (style, poses, angle,
setting, etc.) This will give your photographer a better idea of what you'd like from them.
2. Location
Make sure to book the location for your wedding early on. Venues can book up pretty quickly and if you want to have options, start
looking early! Let the venue reflect your personality and the style of your wedding. Whether you have it in a warehouse, a barn, a chic
museum or reception hall, at the beach, at the top of a lighthouse or on the roof of a skyscraper, think outside the box.
3. Food
Food is a great way to compliment the uniqueness of your wedding day. Go for funky hors d'oeuvres served to guests by waiters
walking around the reception. (i.e. shrimp cocktail, soup shots, watermelon gazpacho, and spoon hors d'oeuvres -- sauced items passed in
spoons, sometimes scallops, shrimps, meatballs, etc.) You can also serve drinks the same way- in unique glasses and
flavors.
4. Bouquets
These days bridal and brides' maids bouquets can literally be anything from single flower bouquets to bouquets with jewels,
berries and fruit. Talk to your florist about options and then start looking through magazines and online for ideas. Your florist should be
able to recreate anything you show them.
5. Wedding Cake
Be creative with the cake and let it reflect the theme of the evening. Think bold colors, unique fruit, tropical flowers and chic
designs. Your cake can literally be a creation straight from your imagination. If you can find a picture of what you'd like it to look
like, great. If not, try to sketch up what you'd like it to look like and give very detailed instructions to the pastry
chef.
